Sandustry Planter Box: Wet Seed and Flower Guide

The Sandustry Planter Box grows a Flower when a Wet Seed touches it. Harvesting the Flower yields Gold and Amethelis, making the Planter Box the next processing step for Seeds produced by a Kinetic Press.

Unlocking the Planter Box

The current official Research page lists the Planter Box in Tier 3 for 2,000 Gold. Because the Research page is marked as work in progress, its tier and cost are dynamic values.

The listing was checked on August 16, 2026. Use the in-game Research tab as the final authority after updates.

Basic planting process

1. Obtain Seed from your production chain.
2. Bring the Seed into contact with Water to make Wet Seed.
3. Move or drop the Wet Seed onto a Planter Box.
4. Allow it to grow into a Flower.
5. Harvest the Flower to release Gold and Amethelis.

The current official Planter Box page confirms the Wet Seed-to-Flower interaction. A current Early Access gameplay video also demonstrates Wet Seeds landing on Planter Boxes and Flowers being harvested for their solid outputs.

What can pass through the Planter Box

The official machine page states that Gold and Amethelis are the only solid pixels that can pass through the Planter Box. Liquids and gases are not blocked, while the player is blocked.

This permeability makes the space below the box useful for basic output collection. Leave a clear drop path and test a small crop before building a larger array so you can see where both materials settle.

What remains unconfirmed

The current official page does not document an exact Flower maturation time, a fixed yield per plant, or a complete automatic harvesting setup. The collected current sources also do not confirm that Soil, manual watering, or another environmental condition is required after the Seed has already become Wet Seed.

For that reason, this guide does not prescribe a timer, promise an exact output, or copy Soil and watering rules from an anonymous fan wiki. If a Flower behaves differently in your current build, verify the live mechanic before redesigning the whole farm.

Quick troubleshooting

• Nothing grows: confirm the input is Wet Seed rather than dry Seed.
• The seed misses the box: adjust the drop path so it touches the Planter Box surface.
• Outputs pile up: clear room below the box for Gold and Amethelis to pass through.
