To break Crackstone in Sandustry, use a digging tool other than the Shovel or Gun. The Rocket Launcher is the clearest directly confirmed method: its official page specifically names Crackstone as terrain it can destroy.

Why your current tool does nothing

Crackstone cannot be damaged with the Shovel or Gun. Other digging tools can destroy it, and breaking it produces no drop. If one of those two tools has no effect on material you have identified as Crackstone, that result is expected rather than an aiming problem.

The confirmed Rocket Launcher method

The official Rocket Launcher page confirms that its explosions can destroy Crackstone. Fire so the rocket collides with a solid surface in the target area; the resulting explosion covers a wide, roughly circular area.

The Rocket Launcher starts with three rockets and reloads them automatically over time. Clear valuable resources or delicate factory structures away from the target before firing because the blast is not limited to one tile.

How to unlock the Rocket Launcher
