Fluxite is the upgrade currency: it pays for improvements to tools, weapons and drones, running alongside Gold as the other half of progression spending. It occurs naturally in limited quantities, so the early supply is finite and worth spending deliberately; later on the Flux Emanator generates it. Digging it is visually odd - no material falls, just a brief cloud of purple vapour.
